Hi readers! I just have this out of the blue curiosity question…what’s the difference or when is the right time to use the word “Ms.” and “Miss”. Inlclude also “center” and “centre”…
One late Sunday morning, I woke up at 11 o’clock so I rushed and fixed my schedules…attend mass first and then I’m gonna meet my friends at work and watch the movie of Sarah and John Lloyd at Coliseum Scarborough. Here in Toronto, celebrating mass in early afternoon is very seldom, that’s why I said to myself If I wasn’t able to attend mass I cannot watch the movie at 6:50 PM, I want to prioritize my date with the Lord
I did my best to browse and look for a church where I can attend mass at 2 or 3 in the afternoon before picking up my friends. And God is so good, if You search for HIM, you will find Him.
I found St. Andrew Kim Catholic Church, there’s a Korean mass at 1PM and English at 3PM. So I decided to go for 3 o’clock mass. So I went there, before I entered the church’s gate I noticed all people were slanted eyes, that’s when I realized that this church are really for Koreans. What surprised me is when I went inside the church the mass is celebrated in Korean language…gosh! How can I understand this? Its good that I have a sunday missal (mass guide). Well, it’s fine, I’m a church goer anyways, I just translate it on my mind. It’s just a funny experience for me, I thought I am in Korea that time. And still I feel great because my schedules goes smooth, after mass I watched the movie that I love.
I am one of the lucky creatures because I am a raw food lover, yes, I’m a vegetable lover, many people doesn’t want it. This is what I mean by “raw food”. In every meal that I take, I make sure that I have vegetable or fruits in my course, something that is raw, not the raw meat or fish that pop first in your mind. Most people should eat at least nine servings (4 1/2 cups) a day, potatoes don’t count. Go for a variety of colors that will give your body a mix of nutrients that it needs. Choose dark leafy greens and anything that’s a rich yellow, orange, or red color. So what’s the benefit of eating veggies? It reduced risk of heart disease, stroke, and probably some cancers, lower blood pressure, lower risk of eye and digestive problems; and also a good effect in your blood sugar.
Making my own style of veggie salad is what I used to do, checking what’s available inside the fridge and let my creativity and imagination move, make your side dish according to your taste. In this picture there is romaine lettuce, carrots, cucumber, and olives. You can also put ripe mango to add a bit of sweetness, but since there’s no mango available in the fridge, I add raisins instead. It is good when you put a little bit of vinaigrette (mixed olive oil, balsamic vinegar, a pinch of salt and pepper)….hmmmm…yumyum! Bon Appetit!!!
I’ve been thinking why when someone died, they say that more mass to be said, the better for his or her soul. And a lot of people is offering a mass intention for the souls of our loved ones. For us Catholics, there is grace that flows in attending mass. But did you know that the grace of one Mass while you are still alive is worth more than the millions of Masses that will be said for your soul after you die. That`s why the church encourages us to be more passionate in taking advantage of God`s mercy while we are still here on earth. Because, life after life on earth, is His judgment waiting for us. Wow! That`s a great blessing! What are you waiting for? Start going to Mass more often!
I purchase a notebook from Dell, a customized one, I upgraded its specs for a better performance. It`s been a long time before I choose a brand and what specs should I include, after so many considerations in terms of my usage, price and its features, I end up buying this one. Below are the specs:
What I like in this notebook is that its keyboard is backlit, so whenever I’m chatting or doing my blogs, or any tasks that needs typing, even if I’m in a dark room, I will not have a hard time typing. And the color of the system, its pink, obviously its my favorite color, pink.
Prior to my Dell notebook, the first notebook that I had is a 17″ HP Pavillion dv9000. It’s almost a year since I got it from Best Buy Canada. You would also love this HP notebook because of its camera. Every time I’m having a video chat or call with my friends and family, the very first thing that they noticed is that my camera is so clear. There was a time that I’m chatting with my friend from Europe, she said that my camera is so clear that she`s like looking in a mirror, well its true, perfect brightness and lucidity. But I decided to send it to Philippines for my sister, so that they can now replace the computer that we have in our house in Alabang, because the latter is kind a Jurassic computer bought in the time of Charles Babbage with 0′s and 1′s in the monitor! Haha…just kidding! Well just to replace my sister’s obsolete desktop.
It’s been almost 2 months (7 weeks to be exact) since I was admitted at Don Mills Surgical Clinic for a Bunion Surgery. Bunion is an enlargement of bone in big toe. In my case, it is hereditary, I get that foot bone structure from my mother, and my mother from my grandpa. Here’s a video of what bunion is.

What they did in my surgery was they amputate a part of my bone in my right toe (metatarsal) to realign it. I also embed a demo video of surgery to show you how it goes.

Because this is a general surgery, they made me sleep before the medical procedure. Thru intravenous that was put on the back of my palm, within 5 minutes or less I fell asleep, I didn’t even feel that I am sleepy, in just one snap I immediately fell asleep. My consciousness come back when I was already in the nursing station, where I felt the pain in my foot. We didn’t stay in the surgical clinic for too long, I wasn’t confined. I was admitted eight o’clock in the morning and leave the hospital at around 12:30 in the afternoon. Before we leave I was advised to take this whole weekend to just rest, don’t make unnecessary movements, do some simple therapy so that my blood circulates well. The pain is terribly horrible, so I take 2 tablets of pain reliever every 4 hours as prescribed by my doctor.
After a month, I went back to the hospital to take off the cast in my foot. On the first week after they take off the cast, I still feel numb, the foot is still swelling, little bit painful, especially when I’m trying to step my disabled foot . I gave myself a therapy(self therapy) through walking (still with crutches), and bending my toes. As of now, after seven months, still working for my full recovery, I can now walk without crutches, but still in a limping motion. Many people are asking, when will I follow next for another surgery on my other foot (left foot), and I keep on telling them, may be next time if I already have someone to take care of me, like for example my mother (because she’s in the Philippines right now and I’m here in Canada). Hopefully in 2 years or so, because its really really hard especially right after surgery, you really need someone to take care of you, bring you food, assist you in taking a bath and some other assistance that you need in your daily routine. It will be much like you are bedridden because of your disabled foot bearing its pain. You have to be extra careful with your movements for once it bump into anything even in a soft stuff, it is still painful. So that’s it for now. I’ll keep you guys updated about the development and healing of my foot.
